Waterloo, IA

We went to Waterloo IA for a few days.  We packed the car full of toys and dirty laundry and headed north.  James was a very good traveler, he ate, slept, ate some more and read some books.

Immanuel wanted to honor Jon for graduating from the seminary, they gave him a beautiful green stole.  Also on that Sunday was a celebration in honor of three teachers that were leaving Immanuel Lutheran School.  Two of them are Jon's cousins Jessica and Andy Gavrun, they will be greatly missed.

James feeds Pastor Kapanka some mints that he has already tasted.

The staff sang a few songs for the three teachers and presented them with gifts.

After all of the celebrating there was a Bible Study at the Gavrun's.  After we dove into the Bible, enjoyed a fantastic meal, it was time for some lawn games.  James enjoyed playing with Grandpa and Dad.

The next day it was warm enough to get into the pool.  James loved it, he loved getting in and out, he loved splashing, he even loved playing with the hose as the pool was filled with water.

Grandma gave James a ride around the kitchen on his towel, he thought it was great.

The next morning we woke up to pink birds in the front yard.  The youth are having a fundraiser and you can pay to put flamingos on someone's yard.  James was thrilled and enjoyed collecting them.

After gathering up the herd, he decided to cook something for breakfast.  He had to make sure he pulled the right pot out of the cupboard.

When we left IA, we had bags of clean laundry and more books for James to read.  He also had some more snacks, two of his favorite things, fruit and fruit snacks.  He seemed to enjoy entertaining himself with the cars and reading the books to himself.  He is a great little traveler.
