James has been attending Gearing Up For Kindergarten. It is a program offered by the state to see if kids are ready to enter kindergarten in the fall. It is a 12 week program and we go once a week. The first half of the evening we go through different stations with James, then we separate and attend a parents only portion. James is doing very well, Jon had to fill out a form to see where James was at the start of the program. James had to say his full name, address, count as high as he could (100 before he asked if he could stop), identify shapes, colors, letters and numbers. It is a wonderful program and I think it is very helpful for the parents as well.
One of the stations last week was writing a story. James had to draw pictures to tell a story. He then had to retell the story so that we could write it down and turn it into a book. I love his book and I wanted to share it, so here it is.
James signed his name, he likes to write James B even though he is the only James in his class. He also likes to make his E a bubble letter.
The sky is purple because it is a sunset.
