Jon turned 31 today. James has been looking forward to this day for a while. One reason is because he really wanted some cake, and another reason is because he picked out and wrapped Jon's gift all by himself and he really wanted to play with it.
Here is the gift that James picked out for Jon.
Michael practiced building with blocks, he was doing a great job. I helped him with the sloped blocks but he did the rest.
Jon and James were working on a different building project.
Everything seemed to be going well, until the end when James took it and said that he was going to play with it. I am sure that Jon expected that.
A sweet moment in the afternoon, James was reading to Michael.
James informed me that this is not the cake that he would have picked, he wanted a car hauler cake. Jon however liked his Lego cake. I think it turned out well, it was the first time I made my own fondant. It was much easier than I thought it would be and the colors were nice and bright for the Legos. Jon only had Star Wars people, so I guess it was a Star Wars Lego cake. James loves R2-D2 so he liked that there were two of his "brothers" on the cake.
Listening to James sing happy birthday to him.
Helping Dad blow out the candles.
