Geology at UND

We had a MOPS play date at the geology department in UND.  Jon was able to take the morning off to to join us.  It was a great help for me and I know he loved seeing James get excited about fossils and rocks.
Looking at bird footprints.

This is a fossil of a baby triceratops that was found in ND.
They were pretending to have horns on their heads.
Looking at different kinds of rocks.
Both James and Michael really enjoyed the rocks. I was a surprised that they both liked that part as much as they did. After looking at the fossils we went to another room and we were able to see and hold rocks that make glass, aluminum, make up, salt and chalk. We also found out that a certain type of volcanic rock can float. I feel like I learned just as much as James and I really enjoyed seeing the rocks that make our everyday things.
