Baseball and Dirt

Our little Cardinal fan is ready for baseball season!
James is continuing to surprise us with what he can do.  He can now say the meal time prayers (at top speed), and the Lord's Prayer.  He also knows C-major scale, and he will sing it mostly correctly when asked to.  That is what we warm up to before choir and he has a book on music that he loves, so we sing it often.  He can count to 30, and he is slowly beginning to sight read.  For instance, he knows that s-t-o-p spells stop, and g-o spells go.  He is still as energetic as ever, and he is very protective of his brother.  He likes to know where he is at all times (which can be hard at church), and if Michael isn't where James thinks he should be he will hunt him down.

Michael has learned to love being outdoors just as much as James.  Now that the weather is nicer we have been spending the majority of the days outside.  Which means baths every night because both boys love to play in the dirt.  One of them loves to eat it as well (Michael).

 Playing in the hosta bed.

You can see the evidence of him tasting the dirt.

Michael has started to shake his head no, and he also tries to talk his way out of things when he gets caught.  I am not sure what he is saying, but he does have a lot to say.

These little feet get into so much mischief.  Michael is very fast when he wants to be and when he thinks that I am not paying attention he will bolt toward his prize.  Whether it is the bathroom, stairs or something that I told him "no" to earlier.  While we were playing outside Michael wanted to eat grass, I told him no, of course.  So he got up, turned and sat down with his back to me, then he tried to eat grass again.  I told him that I could still see him and that he still cannot eat grass.  He just looked at me and smiled and crawled to another place, I assume looking for a spot where he can have his little snack in peace.

James loves to play baseball and golf now (he must have picked that up in CT).   We had to take a few breaks to stop Michael from eating grass, that is when James tried to convince Michael to drink his water instead.  He told him the watered tasted much better and he should stop eating yucky grass.  I am not sure if told him that because he honestly didn't want him to eat it or because he didn't want any more interruptions.
A nice clean smile!

James has gotten creative with playing and attempting to keep Michael from getting his toys.  Most of his toys fly now instead of driving.
