22 Months

James is 22 months now, that is hard to believe.  He is still very active and he is learning new things everyday.  He tries to do things on his own without help, a few things he can do, but he still needs help whether or not he will admit to it or not.  He is a good little helper, he likes to help Jon unload the dishwasher, he will pick up his toys at the end of the day and he loves to help set up for Bible study at church.  He has also learned two new words, oreo and cookie, although they are one in the same.  We were given two things of oreos from a member of the congregation, so everyday after dinner he has one cookie.  He now can ask for a cookie even if he has not eaten dinner yet and once he attempted to get the cookie on his own.  He did succeed in getting the cookies, however I intercepted before he could get one to his mouth.
He also loves to read.  We are happy that he loves books but after reading the same book 5 times in a row we are ready to play with cars instead.  One book that he loves is a book with farm animals in it, he can tell you what each animal says.  There is also a tractor in the book and he knows what that sounds like too.  There is a sheep, duck and cow in the book, he will say "baa baa, quack, and then yum yum" .  If you ask him what a cow says he will tell you "moo", but in the book the cow is "yum yum".  He does love milk, cheese and ice cream so he is right the cow is yum, but still.
We are also getting him used to the idea that there is a baby in mom's tummy.  The first week when we would ask him where the baby was he would point to a tummy, whether it was mine, his or Jon's it did not matter.  Now when you ask him where the baby is, he points to himself with both hands and repeatedly says "baby, baby".  So we are still working on that one.
His favorite meal is still mac and cheese and grapes, but he will eat his vegetables too.  He is doing very well and he is so much fun.  Jon and I love to watch him and we are amazed at how quickly he is learning and growing.

Here are a few pictures of him playing and watching Finding Nemo, he has some strange positions.
