It has been a week since our little Daniel made his grand entrance. Here is what has been going on after his arrival home.
Michael loves being a big brother, and he is very protective of his baby brother. When he wakes up in the morning the first thing he does is run and check on Daniel. He calls him his "little little " brother. He loves to hold him whenever he can and he gets upset if someone else is holding him. We have had many visitors and Michael makes sure that they are careful with Daniel. If he thinks they have held hi long enough he will bring them their keys and tell them good bye. I am very pleased that he loves his baby brother and I am even more pleased that he isn't jealous of me holding him so much. In fact Jon and I are the only ones that seem to be allowed to hold Daniel without any scrutiny.
James loves Daniel just as much, but he is as over protective. He is actually a very proud older brother and whenever anyone stops by he can't wait to show them Daniel. He has even tried to carry him over to people. He loves to tell them about Daniel and show them Daniel's things. He also doesn't mind Michael holding him as much. He does ask for his turn but he seems to understand that Michael really wants to hold him and he will usually let him hold Daniel as soon as he asks. James is a great older brother.
Daniel has had some major accomplishments already ;) He is staying awake for a whole 15 minutes! He has had 2 baths and he sleeps, eats and poops very well. He loves his pacifier friends (or whatever they are really called) and he loves to listen to his brothers play. He only lost 7% of his birth weight in the hospital and because my milk came in while we were in the hospital he doesn't have to go in until he is 2 weeks old.
Overall, we love having 3 boys and we feel so blessed. We are very excited for him to meet family this summer. By then he will be doing so much more.
