It seems like just yesterday we were going to the hospital to have Michael. Now 2 years later he is making us laugh and sometimes making me want to pull out my hair.
Michael loves to read and be read to. He will just sit and look at books or bring books to you for you to read to him. He is also more of a thinker and he will carefully build something out of blocks. Usually James comes along and knocks it down.
For the most part Michael is a happy guy. His Dr tells us that he is the happiest baby he has ever seen. He is usually laughing or smiling. He gets so excited about going somewhere or doing something. However, he also has a violent streak. If James does something (like knock down his tower) then he will bide his time and then attack. He is also pretty strong, he likes to pull James off of the couch to start a wrestling match. He also tries to pull James through the dining room on a blanket.
He is beginning to speak in 3 and 4 word sentences. He asks "why" or "what's that" often. He still loves to dance and listen to music, however it has to be upbeat or he will shut it off. He loves sports and he is very happy to play ball for 30 minutes at a time. He tries to do things that James does and gets frustrated when he can't, but he is more patient than James and he will keep trying.
Michael is really a joy and I love watching him play with James. It usually ends with one chasing the other to get a toy back, but for the most part it is fun.
Michael asked for a Jake and the Pirates cake, but I don't work well under pressure. Being distracted with our baby boy coming I did not do a good job with the cake so I turned it into a trifle. Michael was ok with that because it was still chocolate. I do plan on making him a belated birthday cake when I am recovered. So his birthday will just be extended for a few weeks.
We did go to Petco and buy some more fish for the fish tank, which he loved. He now tells James that they are his fish. He was also able to play outside with the water table because it got up to 80' today. Today was a great birthday for him. I plan on taking more 2 year pictures of him outside, so I will post those when I post the results of his 2 year check up.
