James update

James is changing so quickly.  He is putting more and more sentences together and learning new words everyday.  He often surprises Jon and me with what he knows, it seems like he wakes up with something new each morning.  He still loves to do arts and crafts, which is wonderful on rainy days or days when I am not able to take i=him for a walk.  He is getting better at stamping and painting.  He had to decorate a little person for the school for the Month of the Young Child.  Jon told him to add hair, fingers, ears ect and he did.  Of course it doesn't look like fingers and ears but we were happy that he knew what we were talking about and where to put them.
James can identify most of his body parts and he is very eager to learn the alphabet.  Every time we go out and he sees letters he asks what they are and we tell him.  He can identify 5 consistently, he is getting better with his colors.  The other day we had an argument about whether our car is black or blue.  I can see where he would think that the dark blue is black, but I will continue to argue with him about it. :)
We daily watch for cars out our front window, this helps him and confuses him with his colors.  There are so many different color cars out there that I don't think he understands how there can be 5 different shades of green in a row.  He gets excited when he sees a white or red car because he knows those colors.

James has claimed the space under the counter as his own little space.  I am in the process of looking for a nice soft rug for him.  He likes to go in there when he needs a break from being chased or when he needs a quick (5 sec) nap.
Laurie, Moriah and James and I went to Frgo to go to Hobby Lobby and they fell asleep.  James is a great little shopper, he hates to go into the cart unless he is getting a snack.  We are working on teaching him to stay close by when we shop if he is walking next to us.  It is hard for him when there are so many things to touch and put into the cart.  Things like a new toaster, little girls sparkly shoes and other things that he thinks look good.  I have to make sure before we leave each aisle to check the cart and put those random things back where they belong.
