Grandma Buescher had a week off of school for spring break, so Great-grandma Wiltenburg, Aunt Becky with Benjamin and Paul, Aunt Rachel with Bella and Bo and James and I all met in Iowa. It was a little crazy but it was a lot of fun. The weather was beautiful, almost hitting 80' a few days. James and I were not prepared so we had to go buy some summer clothes. We packed our winter coats and sweaters, and all of those items never made it out of the suitcase, which was fine with me.
Great-grandma teaching James about stop signs, James liked to bypass them and put the cars in the elevator shaft and then the elevator would get stuck. Now James enjoys pointing out the stop signs in books and on the road.
James enjoyed playing with Jon's old legos.
James discovered that two of the trucks fit under the couch, so it served as a parking garage. Here he is retrieving the trucks from their parking spaces.
James decided to teach Bo about cars, he handed him the yellow one and then explained how to play with it and then he showed him how to play with it. Bo decided that the best way to play with the car was to taste each of the wheels, James gave up and walked away.
Playing the piano and singing for everyone, it was a very loud but wonderful concert. Thankfully it did not last very long either.
There were many little breaks for a story or two. The books that were read over and over and over again were "The Berenstain Bears and the New Baby", "Clifford and the Silly Scarecrow" and "Cars and Trucks and Things that Go".
The 3 older boys huddled around a portable dvd player to watch "Cars".
Attempt number 2 to teach Bo about cars, once again Bo had his own way of playing with them.
Some outdoor fun with kick ball croquet, Bella had her way of playing the game that required more sitting than kicking.
Benjamin and Paul tried to follow the rules, but with two cousins more interested in taking the wickets out of the ground than playing the game it was a little challenging.
James and Jon play a game of bean bag toss.
Of course you can't have a family gathering with out a game of baseball. Aunt Becky was the pitcher, and Grandpa and James were the catchers.
