It was a rainy day on Monday so we could not go for a walk or bike ride in the park, instead we took James to the Science Center. All of us had a great time, the only down side was that we forgot that it was President's Day, so we were not the only parents with the idea. Here is our journey through the space and fossil section of the Science Center.
The first stop was Mars.
"Dad look, that's the Valles Marineris Canyon"
We then walked through the tunnel that goes over the highway, James was excited to see all of the cars.
"I think that car is going too fast"
James is looking at the cars and pointing a radar gun at the cars as they pass and it clocks their speed.
"Can I have one of these for my room?"
James loved looking at the cars through the viewing glass in the floor.
"How come I can't play with those trucks?"
Jon was teaching James all about lift bridges.
"I think this should go back down."
Lego Arch
"Dad, can we watch Veggie Tales on this?"
James and Jon looking at the Imax Theater reels, they were currently showing a film about underwater dinosaurs, but James is still hoping for Larry Boy.
Watching the balls drop.
A giant T-Rex.
James was amazed at how big and loud he was, he couldn't stop looking at him.
"Mom, what happened to the Triceratops?"
James enjoyed putting his hands in the fossil casts.
Above: ferns
Below: T-Rex tooth, he wanted to bring that one home.
A real dinosaur jaw bone.
Before we left we stopped at space command so that James could help out.
A view of the command post.
"Look at all of these buttons!"
Touch the astronaut before we leave.
