Iowa

Jon was invited to preach at Immanuel over break.  We were very excited and sad at the same time because we know that this is probably the last time he will be preaching there.  We were excited to see everyone in Waterloo and showoff how big James is now.  James was not too sure about the middle school girls, in fact they made him cry.  However, Jessica invited us to watch the musical rehearsal and James loved that.  They are doing "It's Cool in the Furnace", it is about Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.  It is a very cute musical and we really enjoyed all the songs and motions that went with them, James even got into it and tried to participate.

While James and I were watching the musical, Jon and Mel were fixing our tire, we ran over a nail.  According to Mel it is the same nail that we ran over in Nashville, apparently it followed us to St Louis :).  Even though we had a few car repairs, it was a very nice and relaxing trip, here are a few pictures.

Grandma pulled out some of Jon's old toys, it was exciting to see James playing with them.  He really loved the big trucks and the big John Deere tractors that Grandpa has.

Jon also had a My Buddy doll, James was not too sure what to think if that.

Jessica entertains James with music lessons.  While we were there James played the piano and tried some of Jessica's instruments, maybe we will be close enough for Jessica to give him music lessons in a few years.
