VBS

We had VBS this past week.  It was the first time that James was able to attend, and I think he did well.  It was a little hard for him because it went past his bedtime, so each day he got a little crankier.  He loved the music and he had crafts with me.  He was usually one of the first ones done with his craft (he didn't really take his time, he just did what needed to be done then he wanted to play).  We had coloring sheets for those that completed sooner then the rest, but that was not worth his time.  It was usually at this time that he would get upset, but he was fine after snack time.

I found it funny that James and Michael had their own group of girls wherever they went.

We had a few rainy days so the kids were not able to play outside.  After 2 days of rain we took them outside and most of the kids knew to be careful of the mud and stay out of the puddles.  I did say most because (of course) James was not one of those kids.  He was brought in to me with a very muddy bottom and hands.  Apparently he tried to jump in the mud and slipped.  At least we had a change of clothes for him at church so I grabbed those and cleaned him up.  I could not remember his schedule so I asked him if he already had a snack or if that was were he needed to go.
"James, did you have a snack already?"
"No, Momma, no VBS snack."
"You didn't have a cookie?"
"No. James hungry.  Cookie please, VBS cookie please."
So, I took James to music and went to see about getting him a snack.  When I talked to the ladies about James having a snack they told me that he already had one.  They were decorating sugar cookies with m&m's and before the ladies could explain what the kids were going to do James ate his m&m's so they gave him some more.  I am not sure if James understands that he lied, but it is the first time that he did it.  Though the story is funny I will have to keep an eye on him.
