Pastor's Conference

We had our pastor's conference in Mandan, ND, the boys and I were able to go with Jon.  The hotel we stayed at had a mini water park and that is all James talked about on the way there.  As soon as we got there he was ready to go play in the water, after a nap we did go and that tired him out for the rest of the night.

On Tuesday morning the wives had a little brunch and James made friends with a little girl named Emily.  If you look a little closely you will see why they are hiding under the table, it is because they kept swiping the chocolate doughnuts.
Tuesday was a busy day, after the breakfast we had a lunch with some of the newer pastors in the district.  When we left to go back to the hotel James started to eat his apple and then he fell asleep mid bite.

Here is the children's pool which is only 6 inches deep.  It also has a few spray things and a small water slide that James loved going down, until he noticed the big slide and asked to go down that one.  That water was only 4 feet so Jon didn't mind taking him down that one and once he got a taste of the big slide he did not want anything to do with the kids slide.

Like every stay in a hotel, it is a little challenging to keep the kids asleep in the morning.  So on the first night they woke up at 4:30 and they slept in on Tuesday and Wednesday and woke up at 6:00.  So here they are on Wednesday going back to sleep at 8:00.  Of course Jon and I were awake during that time because even though it was a king size bed they took up most of it.
After a little morning nap, James woke up to find a few trucks parked out the window.  He was very excited to see sleeping trucks so he watched them while he had some grapes.

Bismark has a wonderful pumpkin patch called Papa's Pumpkin Patch.  I was told that I had to stop there on our way out of town, so we did.  Of course the weather on Tuesday was 83' and today it was 45' and a little wet but that did not stop us.  James could not wait to get out of the van to go explore.

 A good looking group!
Of course James spotted the train and could not wait to get to it.
 He was speechless.
Michael was all bundled up and staying warm in Jon's arms.

 A combine.
James did not want to stand up straight, but he is around 3 ft.
 A tractor.
James pulling his mini pumpkin in the green "John Deere" wagon.
All that straw waiting to be climbed.
A fun way to go down.
Yes this is a trebuchet, one meant to launch pumpkins.  We arrived at the patch when it opened so it was not up and running yet.  I am not sure who was more disappointed Jon or James.

A few more views of the patch from on top of the bales.
