On Sunday after church we headed north to the little town of St John's for a family PALS retreat. We were pretty far from any large grocery store and 14 miles from Canada. We did not have any cell phone service, but we did have peace and quiet.
This is a picture of the kitchen in the cabin we stayed in. We were supposed to share the cabin with another pastor and his family but because of a funeral they were not able to come.
The dining area.
The living room.
The room we stayed in. The cabin was very beautiful and large. There wasn't any AC but because it is surrounded by trees and there are 3 fans in the main area it was cool and very comfortable.
Of course one of the first things James spotted was the mini playground, but once he got to the playground he noticed the Tonka trucks in the sandbox.
James was allowed to take one truck from the sandbox to take back to the cabin, he choose the dump truck. Above he is pushing it to the horse barn.
Michael seemed to enjoy the shade and all the animal noises.
Horses and cows.
Above and below is the deck attached to the cabin, we had a beautiful view of the lake.
Here is another really cute view.
After a nap during snack time James and Jon decided to watch Cars from the loft.
Michael decided to take another nap.
James enjoyed playing Twinkle Twinkle on the piano. I knew it was that song because he sang along while he played, it was pretty cute.
James and the cabin.
James got tired of pushing the truck so he stuck it on the stroller (with help from Dad).
James had the right idea, eating breakfast while enjoying the great view. We are very excited to come back to this cabin in a few weeks with Jon's family.
James wanted to share his blankets and puppies with Michael. He is such a good big brother, he made sure we never left Michael by keeping close tabs on him. He made sure Michael always had a pacifier and blanket as well. Michael is also enjoying his big brother, when he hears James he gets a big smile on his face. On the trip up when James was singing a pretty silly version of the ABC's it sounded like Michael laughed at him. We will see if he does it again.
